VPS.app is an independent site about VPS hosting and self-hosting. Every review here is based on a server I actually rented and tested — not on a vendor's spec sheet or marketing page.

How I test

When I review a provider, I spin up a real instance and run the same suite on it: yabs.sh and fio for disk, iperf3 for network throughput, and — for anything aimed at a China audience — NextTrace route tracing plus latency probes from 80+ points across China Telecom, Unicom and Mobile. The raw numbers get published, even the unflattering ones. Where I haven't finished testing something yet, you'll see it marked as pending rather than filled with a guess.

How this site makes money

Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you sign up through one, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That never changes a verdict. I recommend the cheaper option, or the one that pays me nothing, whenever it's genuinely the better pick — and I say so in the article. The whole point of testing honestly is that the recommendation has to be trustworthy, or none of this works.

Who runs it
